World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after an update.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as dolphins). This item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. upgrade item increases the more you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go to its initial state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
